Acknowledgments
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is a private institution that must generate up to fifty percent of its annual budget. To reach this goal and pursue its mission, the Museum depends on the generosity of its partners and government agencies.
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts would like to thank the following organizations for their ongoing support:
Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec
Each year, the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec provides the Museum with essential funding. The Museum has benefited from this support since December 21, 1972, when the National Assembly passed Bill 68, which established an association between the Museum and the Ministry. This association marked a watershed in the Museum’s history, as it brought permanent, concrete solutions to the Museum’s chronic problems of underfunding and lack of space. From this time on, the Quebec government has appointed twelve of the twenty-seven Trustees on the Museum’s Board.

Canadian Heritage
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is able to host exhibitions and present works of art of great value with the support from the Canada Travelling Exhibitions Indemnification Program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. Through this programme, the federal government assumes the financial responsibility for loss or damage to works of art presented in travelling exhibitions. The Museum would like to thank the Department of Canadian Heritage for enabling the Museum to make world heritage available to Montrealers and Canadians.

Canada Council for the Arts
The Canada Council for the Arts supports the Museum’s production of temporary exhibitions featuring contemporary art and the acquisition of contemporary Canadian art.

Volunteer Association of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
The Museum’s Volunteer Association raises monies for new acquisitions and exhibition sponsorships through various fund-raising events, like the prestigious annual Museum Ball.

Air Canada
Airbus and Air Canada are the presenting co-sponsors of the prestigious exhibition Édouard Vuillard, on view at the Museum from May 15 to August 24, 2003.
